Ramacca (Catania) - Sagra del carciofo (Artichoke Festival)

Food festival highlighting the nutritional and therapeutic properties of local artichokes. The festival is a celebration of this local specialty cooked in various ways.
Holy Week Observances and making of the traditional “Easter Arches”: the original expositions are realized with natural materials (laurel oak, rosemary, cereals, bread) and last 4 weeks. Guides tours at the museum of Easter archs (advance booking is recommended - email [email protected])
Trapani - pasqua, la processione dei misteri (Easter Holy Week, Procession of the “Misteri”)

The “Misteri”, wooden sculptures representing the Passion of Christ, are carried around during the festival by members of the city’s guilds. They date back to the 17th and 18th century. One of the island’s most famous religious events staged on Good Friday.
One of the most interesting Sicilian Easter festivals, the so called “Diavolata” beginning the palm Sunday and ending on Easter Sunday. In front of the main church the devils and the death meet the Humanity with the archangel Gabriel. In the end the angels will join the Virgin Mary with the resurrected Jesus.
Grandiose celebrations in honor of Saint Agatha, Catania’s patron saint, with a spectacular Candlemas procession; an all out three days street celebration, worship, devotion, folklore and traditions.
