Taormina city

No holiday to Eastern Sicily would be complete without a visit to Taormina, Sicily’s most fashionable resort town. Taormina is a beautiful medieval hill town with stunning seaviews and more of Mount Etna. The Teatro Greco is Taormina’s top attraction. Today’s remains date from the 2nd century A.D.

Side streets, alleys and stairways wind below and above Corso Umberto and are lovely to walk through. Taormina’s Villa Comunale or Parco Duca di Cesarò on Via Bagnoli Croce, just off Corso Umberto I, is one among the most beautiful parks in the whole of. Taormina’s funivia (cable car) connects Taormina to Mazzarò and to the beaches below. Isola Bella is a particularly beautiful pebble beach.
