Also called the "city of two seas”, the city's peculiarity is that the historical centre is located on a small island which is connected to the new city by two bridges. The Main sights: the Doric Temple and the Crypt of the Redeemer, the National Archaeological Museum, the Cathedral of San Cataldo and the Church of San Domenico Maggiore.
