Lecce

The town, so often described as the 'Florence of the Baroque' or the 'Rome of the South, has two main focal points: Piazza Sant' Oronzo and Piazza del Duomo. It is also worth visiting the Roman theatre and its little museum. What strikes most in Lecce is the all-pervading coquettish atmosphere which makes every little square and every hidden corner look like a salon.
